שְׁנַיִם

שְׁנַיִם, שְׁנֵיm., שְׁתַּיִם, שְׁתֵּי f. (b. h.) two. Ber.8a ש׳ מקרא ואחד תרגום reading the Scriptural portion of the week twice, and the Targum once. Ib. שיעור ש׳ פתחים a distance of two gates. Zeb.V, 4, v. מַתָּנָה. Sabb.I, 1 ש׳ שהן ארבע two ways of transfer from place to place, which become four (by rabbinical addition). Ib. שְׁנֵיהֶם פטורין both of them are free.
